Paint Home Improvements
Painting home improvements has been with Cal Phillips since 1977, fast forwarding today to Eco Paint Company, starting a home improvement business early in life was just as rewarding as it is now, helping the local community take care of home repairs, and improvements, having that building trade born in him from two prior generations. Putting his self through College, this was a perfect part-time job, doing various painting and repairs in a home or office, from wood repairs and carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall, siding repairs and replacements, experiencing many local house painting improvements.
Receiving 3 Degrees, one in Business Management, one in Drafting, and other more recently one in Lead Abatement for Contractors and Supervisors from the University of Cincinnati back in 2007. The College who wrote the "Book" for EPA's Lead Program, adding to the list of paint home improvements, Eco Paint is widely recognized, improving homes in Colorado.
House Painting Quickly Became a Passion
House painting quickly became a passion, enjoying the outside, a residential exterior painting job, Cal always welcomed. Bought his first airless spray rig back in 1982, which was a Graco® 495 Sherwin-Williams® Nova®. Cal obtained the first major contract remodeling 12 Time-Share condos out on Lake Palestine, in East Texas, remodeling all 12, painting inside and out. Airless spray rig came in very handy, instead of using the older version pot gun with compressor, always having to re-fill 1 quart pot, as he did in the late 70's. It was at that point painting; Cal was really on to something. As a Handy-man, in the general home improvements field, it seemed like every job completed, included some degree of residential painting, which he enjoyed most of all. Having a much smaller operation back then, had already completed 100's of interior painting jobs, as well as exterior ones. By 1980 it became apparent house painting was Cal's specialty. When Cal decided to do this, he made a commitment to his self and community that he wanted to be the Best this house painting company the industry has to offer. Cal lives and breathes house painting today, having a life-long career, spanning well over 30 years later, as an interior and exterior painting contractor, serving Denver residents and businesses.
Originator of the term "Eco Paint"
By 1993, as the originator of the term "Eco Paint", Cal had changed the company name from Cal's Home Improvement, a sole proprietorship, to Eco Paint Specialist's Inc, incorporating the term Eco Paint into the painting company name. Way before Green Earth Friendly Eco Paint was invented as a retail item. During that time, the acronym "Eco" was thought of a more economical sense, quickly becoming known as well as, ecological. By 1999-2000 the First Green Earth Friendly paint was introduced, using lower V.O.C's (Volatile Odor Content) within waterborne latex paint coatings.
